The “Critical Thinking” Conundrum

“Critical Thinking” has become the highest educational ideal in our schools.  We no longer want students who simply memorize a list of facts or parrot back a bunch of disconnected and meaningless information.  Sounds like a great goal!  But what does it mean to think “critically”?  How are our elementary and secondary schools teaching this highly desirable, yet elusive skill?  Is it really all that important?  Marc and Linda take a closer look at “critical thinking” skills, what it means for students and what you should know as a parent.
